System Settings

Display

  1. Resolution: Allows the user to select the appropriate display and display resolution
  2. Test Resolution: Tests the resolution (and confirms the change to a new resolution)
  3. Display Blanking: When using multiple displays blanks display Plex is not running on.
  4. Display Calibration: Allows the user to calibrate their video
  5. Test Patterns: Displays a series of test patterns that can be used to adjust settings on your display.
  6. Sleep Display when inactive for: Select the amount of time before the display sleeps.

Audio

  1. Digital Audio Support: Plex will auto detect which time of output should be used.
  2. Dolby Digital (AC3) Capable Receiver: Enables Dolby Digital passthrough.
  3. DTS Capable Receiver: Enables the use of DTS sound tracks.
  4. Normalize Film Volume: Raises low volume sections and lowers high volume sections to make the audio level more even throughout the film.
  5. Link System Output: changes the system audio output to match plex's audio device

Input Devices

  1. Apple Remote Mode: Options are: Standard, Disabled and Universal Remote.
  2. Always Running: When enabled it allows the Plexhelper remote application to run in the background when Plex is closed. This allows the user to use the remote control to launch Plex.
  3. Sequence Delay Time
  4. Enable Mouse: By default the mouse is disabled in Plex. This setting will need to be enabled to use the mouse.

Media Server

  1. Mode: Allows the user to choose whether to launch Plex Media Server when Plex is launched.
  2. Always Running: Allows Plex Media Server to always run whether Plex has been launched or not. This setting should be enabled on file servers that need to run Plex Media Server.

Screen Saver

  1. Screensaver Mode: Options include Off, Slideshow, Black, Dim
  2. Screensaver Preview: Previews selected screensaver mode
  3. Screensaver Idle timeout: Length of time before the screensaver activates
  4. Use visualization if playing audio: Gives visualization priority over the screensaver when playing audio.
  5. Slideshow folder: Allows the user to select which picture folder to use for the screensaver when the Slideshow option is selected from the Screensaver Mode.
  6. Randomize: Chooses photos at random from the selected Slideshow Folder.
